Using foot pedals with the Worship Backing Band MultiTrack Player [Video]
The three button usb footswitch we use is designed as a gaming footswitch by a company Scythe (Amazon affiliate link).
We don’t especially recommend that pedal over any other, it is simply one that is readily available on the web and is made of metal so quite robust. That said any similar keystroke 3 button pedal should work for you.
A larger multi function pedal is the Keith McMillen SoftStep 2 MIDI Foot Controller. This is a midi pedal but by using software like Keyworx you can program any midi pedal to access keystroke functions.
We’d recommend assigning the < > keys which are above the , and . buttons on your keyboard (do not press shift) and spacebar to the left, right and centre buttons of a 3 button footpedal for full live control over all play, loop and jump/cueing functions. If you have a or second footpedal or a foot pedal with more buttons like the Keith McMillen SoftStep 2 MIDI Foot Controller we’d recommend assigning some instrument stems to solo e.g. bass and drums or keychange/tempo change functions.
For total hands-free control any of the Hot Keys can be assigned to any keystroke based USB footpedal. We’d recommend assigning the < > keys and spacebar to the left, right and centre buttons of a 3 button footpedal for full live control over all play, loop and jump/cueing functions. If you have a or second footpedal or a foot pedal with more buttons like the Keith McMillen SoftStep 2 MIDI Foot Controller we’d recommend assigning some instrument stems to solo e.g. bass and drums or keychange/tempo change functions.
You can buy these pedals on Amazon or on other more local websites if you prefer.
