Hymns MultiTrack and Split Track backing tracks

Hymns Hymns Hymns Hymns

The struggle we face when we create new backing tracks is often that those new songs are simply not known by the majority of churches, especially the smaller churches that tend to be Worship Backing Band’s main customer base. This means that it can take months or even years before sales really start to come through as the songs become more widely known.

That’s all very different with hymns where we take a well known public domain hymn and record it in a contemporary band style. The traditional hymn is still very recognisable but rather than the organ accompaniment and 4-part SATB harmony, we provide a contemporary band for the music, with some orchestral accompaniment in some songs and give them all more of a modern sound.

Our producer Shawn Thomas has done a great job with our latest releases which include a nice little twist on Come Thou Long Expected Jesus with the melody of Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing in the last verse.

These are in both MultiTrack and Split Track format and each comes with a FREE simple chord chart:

Blessed Assurance
An uplifting arrangement of this timelessly classic hymn using a 12/8 time signature to keep the triple feel of the rhythm, but adding a 4/4 feel to the phrasing. Your congregation will be swaying along!

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus
A unique arrangement of this triple-meter hymn starting out with the traditional melody, and then incorporating the melody of “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” for the last verse. A contemporary arrangement with an orchestral feel.

I Have Decided to Follow Jesus
Your congregation will enjoy the worshipful start to this spiritual gospel tune as it builds each verse into a rhythmic celebration. Start out praying and end up clapping!

I’ll Fly Away
Enjoy this southern gospel staple with a dramatic half-time first verse that leads into the hand-clapping, foot-tapping tempo of the remainder of the song.

We’d really encourage our customers from outside the US to check this hymn out if it is new to you. Very popular in the States.

Immortal Invisible God Only Wise
Your congregation will enjoy this contemporary yet orchestral arrangement of this traditional hymn, and your praise band will enjoy the simplified chord progressions!

Free MultiTrack: Be The One

The free MultiTrack for June is a brand new track to us called Be The One by Shawn Thomas.

Be The One is based on Esther 4:14 and Joshua 1:19 encouraging us to be strong and courageous, and to answer God’s call – to be someone God can speak through and be seen and witnessed through. The arrangement has a contemporary pop-groove to it, but is very singable and congregationally friendly.

Please remember to report when you use this song in church. It is CCLI Song # 7090053.

Shawn Thomas is a Christian singer/songwriter and worship leader based in South Florida. He began his production and recording training in 1990 under Jeff Peters of Chateau Productions (Dallas/LA), and later graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a BA in Music Industry and Recording Industry Management. He has been a voting member of the Grammy National Academy of Recording Artists and Sciences, and is a writer/publisher member of ASCAP and CCLI. Shawn is a Pride in the Arts Awards recipient for Producer of the Year.

Shawn is the producer behind our recent MultiTrack. releases. It’s great to also be able to include another of his own songs in our repertoire.

The song comes with the original WAV files for use in a DAW such as Ableton, and Transition Tracks for Worship Backing Band’s Mac/PC or iPad Transition MultiTrack Player. MultiTracks are the simplest and least expensive solution to get a full band sound from your worship team, even if you’ve only got a couple of musicians.

The song also comes with a free simple chord chart.

Using Worship Backing Band for online services? Do you have CCLI’s Streaming Plus License?

You now need the CCLI Streaming Plus Licence to use our backing tracks for online services

With the explosion of online services in the last year, CCLI has introduced a new licence, the Streaming Plus licence to cover MultiTracks and Split Tracks. It’s an enhancement of the previous Streaming licence.

If you are using Worship Backing Band MultiTracks or Split Tracks for online services (or have done so over the last year) please do ask your church CCLI administrator to check that your church has the Streaming Plus licence.

This is a different licence to the Streaming licence that was in place the last time we reported on this in 2020.

This is a helpful guide to reporting, see also the video below. You’ll find all our MultiTracks and Split Tracks listed in the CCLI catalogue under the name Worship Backing Band.

We also ask you to provide a clickable link on your website (it doesn’t need to be anywhere prominent) to www.worshipbackingband.com in order to credit us for the tracks.

Using Split Tracks

Our Split Tracks whether individual download or our compilation DVDs are perfect for use in your livestreams.

Split Tracks are low cost MP4 backing tracks that come with onscreen words as well as music and vocals (most backing track providers do not include vocals which is a bit of a struggle when you are trying to lead online worship with them!)

You will therefore not need to use Easy Worship or some other method of sharing the song words when you are using Split Tracks.

All you do is load the computer that is hosting the service with the songs you want to do (you can use iTunes, VLC or any other free media player), share the screen in your streaming software (eg Zoom) and then hit play. Your song will start and your online congregation can sing along (it’s best if they are muted as none of the online platforms really cope very well with everyone singing or speaking at the same time).

You can even embed Split Tracks into Powerpoint (just Google how to embed an MP4).

Do ensure that the settings on your broadcasting platform (Zoom or similar) are set to share the computer’s audio.

Use of our tracks in real life

For use live in church you simply need a standard Church Copyright License from CCLI and you report the song use just as you would with a live band.
